Calla lilies have a large, cone-shaped head. Take care in handling your calla lilies, as the oils from your fingers can cause bruising on the heads. It's good to wash your hands and then mist lightly with Finishing Touch before handing your lilies.
The stems are hollow and porous. They can be softened for easier control of designing if you gently knead the stems, working your way down the length.
Be careful not to crush the stems too much, as the cell structure must still be able to up water. Cut only with a knife, never with scissors as they crush and pinch the stem.
Now the callas are ready to combine into a flower design.
