I'm going to add a contrasting color with a small cushion chrysanthemum. I want a flexible stem, so I cut off the real flower stem and push a wire up next to the flower and create a hook then pull gently down so the hook is concealed with the flower petals.
Tape the new wire stem with green floral tape. Bend the cushion mum head slightly forward, taking care not to break off the head.
Place the forward tilting cushion mum so it clusters under the carnation head and is facing outward to the left. Tape into place.
As I'm going to ribbon wrap the final stems, I will snip off the excess stems and tape into one single stem.
