I love adding colored pearl pins to many of my wedding designs, including bouquets, corsages and boutonnieres. They come in a wonderful array of colors and add a sheen of color to flower heads.
If you have to shorten the pin shanks, be sure to take safety precautions and wear protective eyewear.
I insert the pins deep into a stiff styrofoam and then cut with a heavy pair of wire cutters, placing my finger on top of the pearl head. This keeps the sharp pieces of the shank from flying off and creating a hazard to eyes or getting lost on the flooring.
I'm going to use the matching colors of apple green and hot pink as accents in the rose heads.
I inserted three pearl pins in each rose head.
Stagger the height, giving more contrast and interest.
