Now come the magic of Cowee stakes and picks. These tiny wooden stakes are very porous and easily concealed in foam because of it's green color.
Florists insert them into wet foam blocks to anchor foam into place. The porous wood swells up, tightening in place and literally "pinning" wet oasis blocks together.
I simply inserted several stakes and wound the wired end around the glass stem to stabilize it.
I used several wooden Cowee picks, making sure the fitted blocks were secured in place.
When a florist uses the words "mechanics of the design" it simply means the tools and the way you build the design to hold it together. These are later disguised by the greenery and flowers.
