Pumpkin centerpieces can get a little messy when cleaning them out! Be sure to lay out newspapers or tarp to catch up the mess and help with easier cleanup. Get rid of the mess before continuing and make sure the floor isn't slippery.
Now the pumpkin is scored, scooped and ready to continue with the flower prep.
My next step is to trim away at the top opening of the pumpkin until my water container fits down into the opening.
Using my floral knife, I trim carefully, checking frequently to be sure I'm not taking away too much.
Now when I drop my Oasis container down into the pumpkin, it fits perfectly and is supported by the sides. If you wish, you can put a small filler in the bottom to support the flower arrangement, but I don't usually find that necessary.
