Although I love the look of fresh holly with its bright red berries, I must admit that is is not always to favorite green to design with by florists.

The needle-like points on the leaves are quite sharp and can draw blood from an unwary finger if you don't take care!  It's interesting to note that holly with berries is the "female" bush and holly without berries is considered male!

But it seems that every traditional holiday design must contain a sprig or two of this distinctive leaf to finish out the perfect design!

You can see I leave a few open spots to insert holly in the back of the sleigh as well!

Clustered greens helps give a nice look and shape to the final design.

I like the look of the different greens and their distinctive look and shape that adds a lot to the interest of a design.

Turn the finished greened piece around and look from all sides.

Once it is completely greened in, you will be ready to add in the flowers.  Before that, however, I want to add in a little pine because of the delightful "Christmas Tree" smell!
