The handling of this heavily saturated foam is bound to force some of the water out and flows over the container to the table top.
Always keep some absorbent towels handy ready to mop up any water puddles.
I take another Cowee stake and drive it into the foam at an angle from the side, pushing it down deeply and as far into the ceramic container as I can.
Once it touches bottom, I will cut off the excess of the stick protruding from the side of the florist cone.
Use wire cutter or heavy flower scissors to cut the wood off cleanly. The wood is very lightweight, so this is easy to cut.
