Christmas Table Centerpieces

Continue to work your way around the centerpiece, gradually beginning to insert the greenery pieces at an upward angle as you move up the brick of foam and towards the center.

So the bottom pieces should angle downward, the middle pieces straight outward and the top pieces will angle upward.

Notice that I use shorter pieces of spruce on the sides of the arrangement than I used on the ends.  This is referred to as a "long and low".  If I wanted a round centerpiece, I would keep all the pieces the same length.

Move around the perimeter, filling in quickly with the Christmas greens.

I generally strip off the bottom spiky leaves and give a clean cut with my knife so that the greenery inserts cleanly into the foam.  Trying to push in a bushy piece of greenery can create big holes in the foam that can weaken the foam structure and begin to break it down.

Christmas greens usually fill in quickly.  Just work your way around the arrangement steadily, turning it around so you give this all around arrangement an "even" look.
