A couple of smaller glass Christmas ornaments adds a lovely enhancement to your holiday designs. Slip a sturdy wire (21 gauge is good), fold down the sides to form a stem and tape down with floral tape.
Start the tape at the very top, directly under the glass ball.
Pull the florist tape tightly and wind down the wire stem. You can cut to any length you need later. Leave the wires long in case you want to add some higher up on a tall centerpiece.
For this piece, however, I snipped the wire in half and then inserted it deeply into the lower part of the flower design, right above the hydrangea head.
The smaller ornaments and pine cones won't take away from the overall design and allow the flowers to be the focal point.
I like to cluster ornaments and pine cones, giving a mass of interest that calls a little more attention that just a random placement all over the design.
